Mission and History

Since 1995, we have worked to make commuting in Cambridge easier.  Our programs help you get around without relying solely on driving and parking, while reducing your environmental footprint and keeping more money in your wallet.

Photo by Pedal Power PhotographyEZRide Shuttle has been our primary service since 2002, replacing upwards of 20 corporate shuttles for our participating members. Our brand new fleet of 40-foot CNG buses are equipped with wi-fi, electronic destination signs, ADA compliant stop announcements, and bike racks.

EZRide provides high frequency service for greater Kendall Square, connecting the Commuter Rail, Red Line, and Green Line to major employers and MIT. Service is free for affiliates of our members, and is open to the public for a small cash fare.

CRTMA also provides information about MBTA and other private transit services connecting Cambridge to the greater Boston region. Looking for a shared ride?  We've can connect you with car and van pool services, and a commuting rewards program, too.  Biking and walking commuting options abound in densely developed Cambridge and Eastern Massachusetts.  And when you leave the car at home, our Emergency Ride Home program can help make your commute choices less stressful.

As road and transit construction increases across the region, Charles River TMA helps connect you to the news and information you need to make the most of your commuting options - read our transportation news reports or follow us on Twitter and Instagram
